• Question: Have you found anyway to help stopping cancer or curing it to be less harmful?

      Hi Simon, great question! In the lab I am interested in a specific protein called USP11. We believe that this protein plays a role in breast cancer cell growth, and helps to keep them alive! When I silence this protein in breast cancer cells in the lab (and stop it from doing its job), they grow a lot slower than usual. I still have a lot of work to do, but I hope one day we can use a drug which targets USP11 to treat breast cancer.

      I don’t work on cancer but I do work on autoimmune disease called multiple sclerosis where the person suffering from it has many problems with movement, coordination, vision, and thinking as it worsens.
