• Question: How are fingerprints formed?

      Cool question! As far as I know nobody is quite sure of the answer to this. Fingerprints confuse scientists for many reasons. One idea is that a person’s fingerprints are formed when they are a tiny developing baby in their mother’s womb. Pressure on the fingers can form ridges on the finger tips. But as I said that’s just one idea. Maybe you can solve the mystery of fingerprints if you become a scientist!!

      Wow this question caught me off guard because I actually don’t know the details!! I knew that all fingerprints are unique to every person (even identical twins have different fingerprints- how amazing is that) and are formed during development of the fetus in the womb.
