Many thanks for the great question. With the sun’s heat, water is being constantly evaporated from the sea and can exist as a vapor in the air. When the air is full or cool enough (especially at heights), the evaporated water molecules start to join together and form clouds. Cloud formation really is beautiful – see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=232LFz-aiz4
There is also an interesting section within the following short video regarding the importance of oceans and climate regulation (there rest is very interesting too!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqgV70nhZg4
Hi there,
As Oliver explained clouds are formed because water is evaporated into the air. Then in the upper atmosphere the temperature is much colder! This is why the water vapor begins to condense. This condensed water can form a cloud that we can see above us because it attaches to dust particles in the air. You know you can test this out by making your own little cloud in a jar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=44GH2gs8avo 🙂
