I plan on buying equipment to bring to schools and other venues to help us to explain the research that we do. I have links to some ideas on my profile! If you have any other ideas of what you would like to have explained at our events please let me know 🙂

Hi there, hahaha I feel like I’m giving an exam! 😀
I will use the money to organize a ‘Lab safari’ in my institution (The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland) where students from schools will be able to come from all over Ireland to see the kind of research we do in a safari style where you go from one department to the next, and even get some hands-on experience like doing some genetic tests, or looking at immune cells under a microscope yourself, or handling models of the brain etc. More information can be found on my profile if you click on my name/picture 🙂
I would donate it as prize money for a competition about genetics and bioethics for second level students, designing a poster outlining key scientific or technological developments in human healthcare and to highlight key ethical, legal and social justice issues that might arise.
However, Fiana and Remsha have highlighted really brilliant uses too!
