Many thanks for your question! Bioethics is a study of what is, and is not, ethical, legal and socially good about practices and technologies in medicine and life sciences. It helps develop protections for patients and people who are researched about. Without the watchful eye of people who study bioethics, there have been historically terrible things done under the pretense of calling it scientific discovery or medical treatments. I am not sure what is the most interesting fact about bioethics is, but the most important fact is that though studying it, we are better able to see possible bad uses of new technology and practices in medicine and life sciences before they happen!
