I suppose my job takes a lot of patience! When doing a PhD, there will be many days when your experiments don’t exactly go according to how you thought they would go! So, that’s when you need to chin up and think about why things went wrong and what you can change to make your experiment a success.
Hardest part of my job is probably keeping up with all the new research that comes out and making sure I always know the latest discoveries that have happened 🙂
I agree with Remsha, it can be very tough when you put a lot of work and planning in to an experiment and it doesn’t work out for you. However, when an experiment does work out its a great feeling, and completely cancels out the hard days! Taking on a career in science teaches you to learn from your failures, which in my opinion is important in any job.
For me the hardest part is keeping up on all the new research that comes out. Everyday so many amazing discoveries are published in journals and presented at events. It is really hard to keep on top of it all, but it is so important to make sure that all of your research is up to date!
Definitely keeping up to date with all the research coming out and making sure to publish lots oneself – talks and publications = deadlines, deadline, deadlines! 🙂

Delegating- I want everything done sooner than soon – it’s important to get others to help and this makes sure more gets done sooner
