Ah yes this is a great question! Well I suppose the short answer is I don’t think the elbow was made for licking! 🙂 Nah well your body is just designed this way unfortunately, the tendons and ligaments in your arm can’t extend far enough for you to move your elbow up to your mouth.
Some people CAN do it however, but typically they are people who incredibly flexible, and have more flexible joints than the rest of us!
Some people can! But you have to be extremely flexible in the shoulders to be able to lick your elbow. Most babies and young children can lick their elbows as they are very very flexible since their bones have not completely calcified. But as we grow older our bones straightend out, lengthen and widen, they become entirely calcified… and as a result we become stiff and unable to do things that used to be simple, like lick your elbow!
