Good question. If the farmers had more money it might help the animals yes. People would be less reliant on the forest for water and wood and so the forest would not get damaged as much. Also, there is less chance of giving the gorillas and other animals diseases which us humans carry (like colds and flus) that could kill the animals. That is one of reasons why the money earned from charging tourists to enter the park ($750 each!!) should be given to the farmers as well.
