• Question: do you guys research other ideas in physics such as string theory? If so what is you opinion? or any speculation at all?

      Hi @gerry! I don’t actually do much physics research myself – my research is more about wildlife (I like it because I get to visit them outside to do my work!)

      I think string theory is a really cool thing to study, though – since a lot of VERY smart people believe its a theory that will explain a lot of what’s going on in our world. Basically, it proposes that EVERYTHING in our universe is made up of strings. Not just our clothing (which is obviously strings!)…but everything! And it works in a lot more dimensions than what we’re used to dealing with (usually 2 or 3 dimensions). String theory works in 11 dimensions!

      I think its pretty awesome because it tries to explain everything that underlies everything in our universe! So its the theory of all theories! And so if its right, that would be pretty cool.

      Do you have any thoughts on it?!

      I am not anywhere near the string theory with my research and I plan to keep it this way 😉

      Theoretical physics is an awesome field to conduct research but I have not the background and experience for them. The magnitude of the task that a theoretical physicist faces trying to finalise the string theory can be demonstrated by the fact Einstein himself tried hard but could not complete it. The string theory is trying to achieve the holy grail of physics and unite “quantum” and “relativity” theories into a “theory of all”. Einstein was one of the first scientists to attempt this but even the great man did not succeed!

      hi gerry.. i know very very little about string theory at all, except that it sounds pretty cool! Aggelos gives a great answer, and so i think i need to go away and find a good book to read about it some more 😉
