@sofiaa26,
I do go to other countries from time to time to do experiments there. In my case they happen to be countries with loads of sun like India, South Africa, Spain, Greece etc…
Yes, I got abroad to conferences where all the scientists get together to talk about their work and their new discoveries. These have taken me to Hawaii and Alaska in the USA, Dresden in Germany and quite a few trips to the UK.
I have also done some research in Uganda, and I am going to Kenya in January to teach our students about Tropical Biology.
Yes, I’ve been to a few, its one of the best things about being a scientist!
I did get to go to Kenya and Uganda in Africa. Those were really cool, and I got to see some of my favorite animals – like elephants, giraffes, and zebras! I also did some of my PhD field work in Southern Europe, it was nice because it was very sunny and hot there, a nice escape from rainy Ireland 🙂
Hopefully one day I’ll get to go to even more places, and see some amazing things. I’d love to go to the rainforests in South America…maybe one day I’ll make it there!
I went to London last year but other than that, not yet. I’ll be spending a few months in the USA, which I’m excited about, and research involves a lot of conferences, which literally can take you all over the world. I love to travel, which was one of the big draws of a research career for me.
