I’ve been able to isolate individual sheets of graphite (pencil lead) that are only 1 atom thick – called graphene. I have taken pictures of these using a very very powerful microscope. i can see individual atoms in these pictures!
@shane wow.. now being able to see individual atoms is very cool! im jealous. you will have to show me some day if i can pop over next door to physics!
I’m not a nanoscientist – so I havent been able to discover anything like this.
But the coolest thing that I’ve seen that a nanoscientist made was a self-repairing mobile phone, so if it got a scratch it could repair itself. Its like magic!
