      I’d say it’s the transistor.

      A transistor is like a little electronic switch made of silicon, that you can switch using a program and can be done really really quickly. The invention of the transistor allowed us to stop using big glass valves in our electronics and made them smaller and faster.

      Without the transistor, we wouldn’t have computers, so I wouldn’t be able to type this question to you!
