There are so many ways islands form!

There are six major kinds of islands:
continental (1)- where islands break off of continents (like Madagascar!)
tidal (2), – where they’re only islands at high tide (like Omey Island in Connemara!)
barrier (3),- where an island forms a lagoon (the only one in Ireland is in Mayo- Bartra Island)
oceanic (4), – where a volcano forms an island (like Hawaii or the islands in Moana)
coral (5), – where coral reefs form an island (like the Bahamas)
and artificial (6) – where we have build them up (like Bull Island in Dublin!).
