Question: In your opinion what is the most interesting part of geology

The most interesting part is when you start figuring out the story of a particular place or area. We always start with a simple idea and see if that fits what we see. Then as we need we make that idea more complex and try to see if it still explains what we’re looking at. Some people say this is reading the landscape – reading the story of the landscape – and this is a good analogy. The land is full of stories, we try to figure out the right questions to ask.
