      The oddest thing we had to was get a cow out of a trial pit. We were working in the midlands a good while ago, and there was work going on nearby. We showed up one morning and we could hear a cow bellowing, but we couldn’t see anything and then we realised the poor cow had fallen into the trial pit (it is a hole in the ground dug by a JCB – like a big grave! – about 2m deep). It took ages to get the poor animal out but we did eventually.
