We had a really cool project where we let shrimp dig into sand and we measured how much they dug. We saw that parasites made the shrimp dig more than when they didn’t have parasites. Also, when it was hot out, the shrimp dug more. We think that as the climate changes, and everywhere gets warmer, shrimp will dig more, especially when they have parasites!
I haven’t found anything yet because I am just starting out, but I am hoping that my study shows that there are differences in the way social cognition develops babies born at term and babies born preterm. Social cognition is the part of the brain that helps us to understand peoples facial expressions and body language, and how to act in social situations such as at parties or in a group of friends!
