We do a field course based in Wexford that’s a lot of fun, because everything we do is outside on the rocks. The course is about learning to read the landscape so it makes sense to teach it in the landscape.
Students learn how to made observations and how to make maps of what they see. They learn how their observations can lead to reconstructing past environments and places and they start thinking in 4D – not only about what’s beneath the surface but about how things change through time.
