      As ready as I’ll ever be! I am looking forward to it as young people ask the best questions. I gave a talk at my daughters school last year for science week and was asked great questions varying from how do you die from ebola (slowly, painfully from a condition called DIC) to How did you get to be a medical scientist etc.

      I’m really excited to get started on this. The questions I have already been asked are excellent (and will take a lot longer than I originally thought to answer!). I think I’ll have to stock up on my tea supplies for the next two weeks…

      Every now and again my teenage daughters ask me “what’s that you do already dad?” and then their eyes glaze over when I answer, so I’m excited to be chatting with students who are into science!

      As I’ll ever be! Slightly nervous, but in an anticipatory way. Already the variety of questions is impressive, it will definitely be a challenge!
