Yes I do! If we can predict the behaviour of soft tissue better, we can make better computer images of what’s going to happen in the brain during an impact, or to the skin when you cut it, or to an organ when it’s diseased. Soon medicine will rely on computer simulations to figure out diagnostics and plan surgery. It will also help a lot with better, real-time, medical imaging, when you explore the inside of the body without having to open it up. Sounds like a better future for patients, no?
