I got 600 myself, so I was fairly proud of the achievement at the time. However, once you’ve moved on into college and beyond, your leaving cert performance becomes less important! Don’t get me wrong, it’s still an important thing, and it’s good to do well, especially for getting into college, but it’s definitely not the end of the world if you don’t do as well as you had hoped, there are other ways into everything, and the further away you get from your leaving cert, the less people care about how well you did!
Did my leaving cert in France, so no points, only marks. Got 80% overall. Of course none of this matters for long. You go into the course that suits you best, and then nobody cares how well you did when you were 17.
430 points! the entry points for ucd science were waaaay lower back then, only 380, so I luckily had more than enough. But after the first semester of university people stopped asking about points entirely so in the end, once you end up in whatever you want to do after secondary school, the points don’t matter too much.
