Not specifically air pollution, but part of my work is looking at what could happen if nanoparticles end up in the air, the water, the land, or otherwise eventually end up inside a person or animal. So if someone’s battery broke, and particles leaked out, could it be dangerous if an animal or person was exposed to it? It’s important to know, so that the EU and other regulatory bodies can decide if certain materials should be allowed or banned. Hopefully my work can help inform their decisions.
