It depends on the area of science, but it would generally follow a similar trend: reading literature, preparing for experiments, running experiments, and analysing the results.
So to take nanochemistry as an example, in the morning I have to prepare some simple reaction solutions, then before lunch I’ll mix them so that i make nanoparticles. Then after lunch I’ll analyse them on our machines to see what I made, and then put proteins on them and analyse them again.
Whereas another part of my group, who work with cells, will come in the morning to feed their cells, but it might take a few days for them to grow enough to be used, so in the meantime they run other analysis or help us with our work.
Definitely though, no two days are the same, which is one of the best prts of science!
