The sky is blue because the particles in Earths atmosphere are best at scattering blue light.
So when the light from the Sun reaches our atmosphere, all of the reds,oranges and greens aren’t scattered as much as the blue wavelengths – so we see more of the blue light.
This isn’t true when you look at the Sun though – see below for why 🙂
