      i am the typical computer science nerd, i love board games and video games but mix it up with a bit of sport aswell.

      i am a PhD student in University College Dublin doing computer science. I love playing around with code on my computer and making cool things. I enjoy playing board games and video games while i am relaxing during the weekend or after my work is done. I also enjoy cycling by the seaside and enjoying the fresh sea air. When i was in school maths was always my favorite subject so it seems from this that i look like the typical computer science nerd. My favorite show is The Big Bang Theory which just helps show i am a big nerd as my favorite character is Sheldon.

      My work mainly focuses on finding sick cows before a farmer would normally see them being sick. The main sickness i am working with is called Mastitis which is found in many different animals even humans. It can make milk lumpy and means farmers have to throw out the milk. But with my work i can hopefully stop this in the future. I am using AI to help cows become healthier over time.

      I mainly spend my day infront of my computer writing code and showing my results to the other people who are working with me.

      Most of my day is spent sitting in a chair looking and writing some code (which before april was at an office but is now in my kitchen). I also have to make sure i am constantly reading books and news articles about coding and cow illness, this is so i can make sure i am up to date on any new discoveries.

    • What I'd do with the prize money

      I would give it back to SFI to try and help with the introduction of more activities to get young people into Sciences before college and universities.
