For the solar system we couldn’t quite plant things without adding things to the soil. For example on Mars the ground has some toxic chemicals that would probably make it very hard to grow anything, plus there is no liquid water on the other planets. However, you wouldn’t have to add too much to what you find on a place like Mars to grow something. Their ground is a ok starting point I would think. However, I am no biologist! So that my educated guess. Cool question though!
Dear Fete49hue,
it depends on the atmosphere of the planet since both agricultural plants and wild ones are quite choosy and often needs the help of friendly bacteria and fungi to grow and survive here on earth.
Yes I think that we could do it, but only if we’ll provide them the same environment they have on earth. Otherwise, different temperature or air composition can not be sufficient for vegetable or fruits to grow there.
