No one knows for sure! But my educated guess is the following!
Short Answer: COVID-19 will be affecting our everyday life for the rest of 2021. After 2021 we hopefully have a vaccine available for everyone, which may make COVID-19 more like a regular flu. It will unlikely disappear completely, but it will be managed.
Longer Answer: It appears that COVID-19 will be very common until we have a vaccine for the disease. Currently vaccines are being tested and a safe and proven to work by the middle of next year. After a vaccine is developed it will be given first to people that can get very sick, for example the elderly. Since it takes a long time to make enough vaccine it may be about a year from now where enough people have access to a vaccine to prevent waves of the virus from appearing. After most people are vaccinated we will see a decline in cases. What happens next no one knows. It could end up like the common flu where we see spikes in cases every winter. It could essentially disappear if the vaccine is very effective and the virus doesn’t mutate enough to rnfect people again.
