That depends on what topic are you interested in.
I worked in California, Luxembourg, France and now Ireland. They were all good. I was working in the right lab at the right time, so I was working in the right place for what I was doing 🙂
It is very hard to say, because for each science branch you’ll have different answer. Also, for each specific topic in this branch you’ll have a different answer. I think same as Lara said: It is important that you will find the lab with a good project, which interests you but also will be well paid, so you don’t have to be worried about this aspect. One of the things that I have noticed during working in few different countries (Poland, Belgium, Ireland) that the mentality of people is very important. And it is always better to work in international group, then group with only one nationality/ethnicity. That is my personal point of view.
