      It is made of hardened lava (basalts) which makes the Moon very dense.

      The moon is actually made of very similar to the stones on earth since they were originally made from the same material! There are two main types of rocks you can see even from Earth, the darker stuff is lava flows (basalt) and the lighter stuff will be rocks closer to granite (also a type a volcanic rock!)
