Dublin Maker takes the form of a “show and tell” experience where inventors/makers sourced through an open call, will have an opportunity to showcase their creations in a carnival atmosphere. It is a family friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making and share what they are learning.

Women in Technology and Science

Women in Technology and ScienceWomen in Technology and Science was founded in November 1990 to actively promote women in technology and science in Ireland, WITS has informed and educated, completed projects, held events and published two books celebrating the lives and achievements of STEM women.
Since 1990, WITS projects made a real difference to the number of women recruited, retained and returned to the STEM workforce. WITS actively engages in promoting the positive value of STEM to society and in forming and disseminating policy, especially where STEM research and decisions have an impact on women.


Tog Dublin Hackerspace

Tog Dublin HackerspaceTOG is a hackerspace based in Dublin City Centre. It is a shared space where members can have a place to be creative and work on their projects in an environment that is both inspiring and supportive of both new and old technologies. We had our first meeting on the 21st of January 2009 with a group of 17 people, some who had never met before, came together to form a group with the intention of setting up a hackerspace in Dublin. The meeting was great and everyone was full of enthusiasm.

We use S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) to work together to make cool stuff – what could be more fun? Problem solving combined with creativity are at the heart of this hands-on, collaborative learning process.

SciFest

SciFestSciFest is Ireland’s largest STEM fair programme for second-level students. SciFest’s mission is to ensure every second level student has an opportunity to develop critical STEM skillsets through participation in a STEM fair, irrespective of their ability, background or circumstance. SciFest operates across the whole Island of Ireland and throughout the entire school year and, being locally and regionally based and free to enter, it is highly inclusive and accessible.
