12 Question: Why do lightbulbs blow? Keywords: lightbulb Asked by pwelshie to Julio, Jaine, Dave, Annette on 16 Nov 2016.
Jaine Blayney answered on 16 Nov 2016:
If it something that happens a lot, I would check the wiring in the place. If there are faulty connections, you can get an arc, causing too much heat and the bulb explodes.
Annette Neill answered on 16 Nov 2016:
Lightbulbs blow usually because of a surge in power-when you switch on your lamp. Ways to avoid this is by using a dimmer.
