Question: Do fossils all look the same?

No. Fossils can be preserved in different ways. Some are preserved as organic remains, so they appear black to dark brown. Some can be preserved in different minerals: calcium phosphate and calcium carbonate both appear white but iron sulfide (fool’s gold) appears golden in colour!
