Carbon dioxide produced by the burning of fossil fuels, by decay of organic matter, and by animal respiration enters the atmosphere. CO2 levels are increasing year-on-year. We are exploring ways of reducing those levels: planting more trees, forming limestone rocks, reacting basalt with air to form carbonate minerals….these are all areas being studied right now.
