You can use a vibrational energy harvester to convert ambient vibrations. For example the ones of a car moving on a motorway or a train. I want to power small electronic devices such as sensors and they are not always active but they measure and transmit data only every so often. My harvester will convert ambient vibrations and the energy is stored in supercapacitors (similar to rechargeable batteries) so that there is always energy available to power the sensor.
