A lot of insects are important for aquatic life. Mosquitos though are not that important. While fish can eat their larvae and birds and reptiles can eat them when they’re adults. They are easily replaceable with other flies. However, they are crucial in the arctic tundra, where migratory birds can depend on them. I hope this answers your question.
