Hi Callum, at the present time wind energy is more efficient than wave energy. Wave energy is still fairly new when it comes to industry. There is a lower cost of electricity at the moment for wind. However, the potential that wave energy has is huge. That is currently the main area of research is how to improve on this. The trouble is that there are so many different options that it can be hard to know the right one. Personally I don’t think there is one device for wave energy, I think that it depends on the location of the device can define the which one to choose. Another problem is most companies aren’t publishing the mistakes that they make which can lead to repeat mistakes of the same problem which is never good and can waste a lot of time, money and resources. Once we have solved a lot of these problems though there is huge potential. As they say, you reap what you sow, so hopefully, with all the hard work going into wave energy, we will reap the benefits in the future. But hopefully not too far away. I hope this answers your question.
