Seawater far from the coast contains approximately 35 grams of salt per litre.
Our body needs a certain amount of salt to live, but like most things in nature, taking too much of it can become bad for you. Taking too much sea water will cause dehydration (your body loses its water and you may become sick). While a very small amount is probably harmless, 1 L of sea water contain already more salt than what you can take safely.
It may be also dangerous because there could be pollutants or diseases in the water.
