Yeah, I’m proud of what I have accomplished so far. I’m coming from a really rural background with parents that were not able to afford to pay for my college fees, so I try as well to expend the access of science to everyone. I made discoveries, I’ve worked with nice peoples and travel to a lot of places, if I was telling that to the kid I was at school, he would not believe me and tell me that he won’t be able to access that.
There is niceness factor involved with being a scientist. Considering that I also like strategy games, I feel like I am on a quest to discovery a majority of the time, and that makes me smile.
I feel like I am making my tiny contribution to the world to be a better place to live in, and that makes me proud.
I’m incredibly proud of pushing myself to complete a PhD with all the difficulties that come about because of it. Especially while raising a family. I think everyone who gives their all to something should be proud, regardless of what their job is.
