I grew up in Cork but live and work in County Kerry as a scientist. I really enjoy running, cycling, hiking and being at the beach and swimming in the sea. I love nature and am very interested in animals of all shapes and sizes, especially birds. I have a small scruffy terrier dog called Ralph and a ginger cat called Shefflin. I really enjoy listening to music too and sometimes play the guitar and drums.
-
My Typical Day
Communicating with other scientists and Irish companies that are looking for help with getting scientific information for their products.

I start my day by having porridge and coffee while listening to the radio. I then sit down at my desk and start to connect with colleagues and client companies (over the phone and by email) to plan and discuss their research projects. I like to go for a short walk during my break times to stretch my legs and get fresh air. When I finish my day’s work I like to go for another walk or a run and after I have my dinner I like to watch television or read as a way of relaxing.
