      Well, yes. It can be even fatal. Our bodies need oxygen to live. When you breath helium you deprive your body from oxygen which is as if you would hold your breath.

      However, that’s unlikely to happen because your brain will realise that there is no oxygen and then you will actually first feel lightheaded and maybe pass out before actually have any severe damage.
