I think there are two reasons:
1. When I finished my university studies I was offered a very well-paid job in a computer software company. I had also the possibility to do a PhD in computer science and engineering. Then I asked myself what I want to do… to become and expert programmer? or learn much more things and become a scientist?
2. My father is a scientist as well and I got inspired somehow by him đŸ™‚

By the time I was finishing in college I had done a few research internships and learned that computer science could be used for a lot more than just writing games. I really believed that if I got involved in research and became a scientist then some day I might be able to do something really good for the world. I didn’t specifically know what that would be, but that was the plan.
