This is one of those “it depends” type of questions. What kind of acid and what is the slime made of? Lemon juice is acidic for example, but it isn’t a very strong acid. Sulfuric acid is incredibly acidic!
Depending on the type of the acid and the nature of the slime you could get a really strong reaction, or you could just end up with a really messy puddle.
I’m not a chemist, but after Googling around a little, my understanding is that acid is a substance which has lots of positive Hydrogen ions. The more Hydrogen in the substance the more acidic the substance is. Most molecules are really attracted to Hydrogen and like to bond with it. When you put a substance in a strong acid the molecules of which that substance is comprised will literally break apart to form new bonds with the Hydrogen. This results in the substance dissolving.
Maybe ask this one on the material science stream. You’ll get a much better answer from a real expert.
