• Question: are your conclusions based on accurate data

      Yes, they are. It’s really important that our conclusions are correct and based on good data because we’re diagnosing patients, it would be very serious if we gave them an incorrect answer about their disease. To make sure that our data is accurate we do lots of quality control checks in the lab, and when we find a genetic change, we send it to a different lab so that they can double check our results!

      They are! If you don’t have accurate data, how can you (or anyone else) trust your results?
      That’s why we have as many controls as possible in each experiment, to know that everything is working as it should be, so we can trust the results from that experiment.
