I don’t work with patients directly, we have some staff who interact with patients (getting samples with the patients permission), but they are trained medical doctors.
We do interact with patients at conferences (where they are invited to see and comment on our work), but not all conferences do this.
I don’t work directly with patients (I don’t meet them, or know their names). I do, however, work directly with their blood or spit in the lab and I am given information about their disease and their family tree! Some of my colleagues meet the patients to get their blood and spit samples and others meet them to give them any answers I find out about their disease.
I dont work with patients, but in the final stages of my project I hope to get some patient blood samples and run some tests on them to see if my concepts can be transferred from the lab studies to actual clinical patients
