I spend 4 years doing my degree in UCC in genetics, and then a further 3 years completing a PhD in Queen’s University Belfast before I started working in RCSI. That was a lot of years of study, but it was extremely interesting, challenging and I had a lot of fun in the process too!
3 year degree, 1 year masters, 4-5 years PhD.
It was fantastic and worth it- its even more interesting these days as there have been so many interesting advances in knowledge and technology!
I did 4 years of an undergraduate degree, and then went straight into my PhD, college was amazing and I learnt so much about all different areas of science.
