• Question: How many points did you get in your Leaving Certificate

      I’m Australian so… different system (we even have different systems in different parts of the country), but i did pretty well and it got me into the course i wanted at Uni.

      Goodness, I can’t really remember! I was really focused on getting enough points to get into my science degree, and I definitely got that!

    To be honest, I have no idea. Back in those days, We were (or at least I was) not as conscious about marks and points as students are now!

    I genuinely cannot remember. All I wanted was enough to make sure I had enough to get into my science course, and thankfully I had that!

    I’ll put it to you this way – if the points for my course hadn’t dropped, I wouldn’t be here right now 😀

    LC points were such a big deal back in school, but I guarantee you this, one week in uni and nobody will care how many points you got.

    I got 420 points, and although that was 100 points lower than what I wanted and what I needed , i got my third CAO option and moved to galway. If I managed to get the points I wanted I most likely wouldnt be the scientist I am today. Im a full believer that everything happens for a reason, so dont worry too much about points etc, do your best and everything will fall into place
