Esophageal atresia (EA) and Tracheoesophageal fistula (TF), there both birth defects which affect your tube which carries food to the stomach and then windpipe which lets you breath.

EA is when the tube that carries your food to the stomach is not long enough and doesn’t met the stomach and TF is when their is an abnormal connection between the tubes and windpipes going to your lungs!

Because of these birth defects , I had to have surgery which left me with a high probability of getting chest infections, as a result I had pneumonia over 14 times in my life time and thats the main reason I work in infectious disease and mainly in species which cause pneumonia!
