In research there are many questions and challenges which change and evolve. We work on developing ways to improve diagnostics, but the same techniques can be used, for example, to test the quality of grapes for making wine! The challenge some years ago was to build the infrastructure of space and equipment to be able to address these challenges.

When I started some of my current work we were really interested in the fine details of how a cell repairs its DNA and what was in charge of that process- and now we are working on a drug that we hope one day could be used to treat cancer! you never know where you will end up- especially when we have lots of interesting people to work with who have lots of good ideas!
