Yes, I did I grew up with posters of the planets on my walls and every weekend I would pester my parents that I wanted to go the planetarium and see the stars and I wanted to touch the clouds and see what they were made of, from a very early age I was destined to be a scientist and this was supported and nurtured by my parents as well as some amazing teachers in the secondary school that I attended.
Yes I did! I liked lots of other things too, but science is really interesting because you can learn so many new things. I mostly loved to read when I was younger, and science books can be pretty entertaining. I always wanted to look at things too, so one Christmas I got a microscope, and another Christmas I got a telescope. My parents always encouraged whatever I was interested in!
Yes, I still have the same love of experimenting with something to see it I can make it better. I can remember buying a scientific magazine when I was a teenager which helped me learn about all aspects of science. That I focussed on chemistry later in life is due to my excellent teacher at Dungarvan, Mr. Broderick.
