        Unfortunately they are and they are used in the world. It is the negative side of science. We are taught throughout school, university and in my industry of the importance of our role and its impact on the environment. Science should be used to help and progress human life.

        Bombs that contain biological weapons are real and very dangerous. By biological weapon, what I really mean is toxic biological molecules or organisms that can kill people, or make them very ill. Some people think that it would be possible to make a biobomb that is genetically coded to only kill people of a certain race or with certain genetic traits- pretty disgusting thought right?

        In popular culture biobomb means different things, most of which are impossible. In Artemis Fowl, biobombs are used to destroy only organic matter (like people and plants), leaving inorganic things (like buildings and mountains) undamaged. That’s a bit like radiation poisoning, but some inorganic things are affected too. Biobombs like in Prototype are a very different matter- they would require a person to be infected with an organism that could grow very rapidly in order to inflict a lot of damage- I don’t think we are capable of making something like this.

        Humans have enough weapons as it is, and are developing new ones all the time… What is your opinion on this question, and the use of biological weapons? I think science should only be used to help people, and further our understanding of the universe, but there will always be people who want to take advantage of it.
