Question: How did you come across vaccines for malaria? Team success? An accident? Or a lot of time and effort?

Team effort… I moved into a group who were already working on them. The concept of the vaccine platform that we were developing came from a lot of hard work and a “eureka” moment.. the “why don’t we just try this” kind of conversation. It’s great when the results then support the original question & you find a new way of doing things. Then it’s a question of convincing your colleagues in the field that it is true & it is a better way of doing something or a more informed understanding.
